Cibox 9 Inch MP4 Photo Frame

When we think of advances in technology we attribute them to pre-existing appliances such as computers, televisions and music players. Now thanks to companies like Cibox we can enjoy the latest technology as part of our regular home furnishings. The Cibox is the latest breakthrough in digital technology.

Black, silver and white; these are the colours of fascia which come in addition to the Cibox 109D 9 inch digital photo frame. It’s an electronic screen within a frame capable of showing all your favourite photographs and cycling through a collection of them. What’s more, it can also play videos and music. How? The 109D accepts MMC/SD and XD memory cards as well as Sony memory sticks, which can carry jpeg images, mpeg3 music files and mpeg4 video data. There’s also a 2.0 USB connection port on the Cibox 109D so photographs, videos and music can be uploaded in two different ways and just incase you don’t have a USB drive or a memory card.

With some digital photo frames which are of lower quality than the Cibox 9 inch photo frame there are problems with the screen resolution not matching the resolution of the images it’s attempting to project. Luckily with the Cibox 9” photo frame the resolution is 800 x 480 pixels, so very few images should need to be stretched to achieve the 16:9 aspect ratio and thus there is less distortion. It’s also incredibly lightweight for a piece of technology which carries a screen, electronic boards, connection ports and a front glass plate. In fact the Cibox 9 inch photo frame weighs 1.7 lbs. That’s about the same weight as a lobster (for lack of a better comparison).

Extra features:

  • 16mb memory (equates to approximately 32 photographs)
  • mp3, mp4 and jpeg formats accepted
  • Various on screen display languages
  • Remote control
  • 2 x 0.8w speaker output
  • Power adapter included
  • 28.2cm length, 19.6cm height and 3.8cm width
  • 90º photograph rotation, copy and delete functions
  • Built in clock, alarm and calendar

The ability to play music, videos and project different images onto a screen in a slideshow format is not something which we would usually attribute to a traditional photo frame. Usually we expect them to simply sit there protecting our favourite photo but making it look great at the same time. Yet with digitized frames like the Cibox 109D it’s possible to integrate all that’s needed to enhance the ambience of a room whilst keeping your best memories and most impressive photography on display.
